A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Brock!

I am a master’s practicum student specializing in spiritual care and psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Seeking talk therapy is a wise and courageous thing to do. No matter what brings you here, it is not lost on me that seeing a therapist can be an anxiety-inducing experience. Yet rest assured that making the decision to turn to a mental health professional is a sign of strength, not weakness.

I work with clients (adults and youth 14+) primarily through an integrative approach, incorporating a range of psychotherapeutic modalities including person-centered, cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, narrative, solution-focused, collaborative, emotionally focused, psychodynamic, spiritually integrated, and existential-humanistic therapies. Taken together, this simply means that I recognize the human experience to be highly individualized, nuanced, and dynamic while acknowledging the influences of broader societal forces on human behaviour.

When clinically relevant and appropriate, I may encourage you to explore a variety of supplemental, self-directed therapeutic practices outside our sessions. These alternative, mindfulness-based approaches to traditional psychotherapy include bibliotherapy, journaling, dreamwork, ecotherapy, cinematherapy, and Jungian archetypal tarot-assisted self-reflection.

I invite you to consider where you have been, where you are, and where you’d like to go. When you feel ready, I would be honoured to be a part of your therapeutic journey as we work together to bring about positive, meaningful change in your life.

Outside of session, I spend time reading, collecting vinyl records, playing video games, walking dogs, going to the movies, and connecting with friends and family.

I'm looking forward to working with you!
