A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Megan!

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy.

I truly believe that therapy is a place to have those conversations that feel hard to have elsewhere. I view therapy as a safe haven where you can embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultivate a heightened awareness of the influences that shape your life.

As a relational therapist, I hold the belief that our interactions with others offer insights into our own selves and possess the potential for profound healing. In addition to valuing the support network you have outside of therapy, I also recognize the significance of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. I aspire to help you understand your relationship with both yourself and the significant people in your life.

It's a common experience to feel burdened by societal norms and expectations. Within our sessions, I create a nurturing environment to examine how systems of oppression impact our

individual journeys. Together, we'll tap into your inner wisdom, collaborate to set meaningful goals and work towards fostering changes that empower you to lead your life with more authenticity and freedom. Guided by an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed framework, I approach my work with a commitment to embrace diverse identities and experiences. I operate from a perspective that is sex positive and queer positive.

I lead with compassion and curiosity, striving to foster a space that is nurturing and non-judgmental. I am interested in getting to know you, understanding your experiences, your perspectives, and your hopes and dreams. I firmly believe in your innate capacity to overcome your challenges, and I also recognize the therapeutic value of humour—it's a reminder of our shared humanity. Ultimately, my aim is for you to feel not only secure and supported in our sessions, but also empowered and validated in your quest to navigate life's hurdles with courage and newfound skills.

Outside of sessions, I embrace the roles of parent and partner. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, working out, and being outside in nature hiking, biking, and walking my dog.

If the prospect of starting therapy feels daunting, please know that by reading this far, you've already taken an important step. When you're ready to embark on this journey, it would be an honour to walk alongside you.
