Learning how to do psychotherapy is a complex process, much of which is transacted in the relationship between the beginning therapists and experienced supervisors.

Clinical Supervision and Clinical Consultation services for newly registered and seasoned clinicians

Clinical Supervision is an essential part of Psychotherapy, for both beginning and seasoned therapists, as it aids in the development of a competent professional.

This is a process through which a clinical supervisor engages with a supervisee in order to discuss the direction of therapy and the therapeutic relationship; promote the professional growth of the supervisee; enhance the supervisee's safe and effective use of self in the therapeutic relationship; and safeguard the well-being of the client.

At Relationship Matters Therapy Centre, we have experienced Clinical Supervisors who are able to walk alongside you and help support you in your development as a clinician. Equally, as relational and systemic therapists, our supervisors have a specific set of skills that may be helpful to lean on during a clinical consultation.

Common reasons clinicians seek
Clinical Supervision

  • Meet college requirements for newly registered clinicians (e.g., CRPO requirements for RP(Qualifying)).

  • Exploring and support the self of the therapist

  • Improving therapeutic skills, while focusing on the development of SEUS

  • To further develop professional ethics and enhance standards of practice

  • Navigate 'stuckness' in therapy with existing clients

  • Support the clinician through the work of Psychotherapy
