A Bit About Me
Hi, I'm Sarah!
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and I have a Master of Arts degree, with a specialty in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.
In life and in my work, I see the uniqueness in each person. If I could tell clients one thing, it would be that they can feel comfortable sharing anything with me, knowing I won’t be judging them for their “darkest secrets”. When we feel like we are the only ones struggling, we can feel very alone and believe there is something “wrong” with us. I believe that as humans, we all struggle. I also believe that every single person deserves having support. You don’t need to go through your struggles alone.
We live in a society where talking is more common than listening, and I provide a place where you can feel heard and not judged; seen for who you are and who you want to be.
We will work collaboratively together, to support you in self-exploration and growth. In our work together, we may explore patterns from past experiences and relationships that currently impact your struggles. We may also practice coping tools that you can use in “the real world”. I specialize in working with individuals and teens, of all gender identities.
I use an integrative approach, simply meaning that I have a toolbox of therapeutic tools to best cater to what will support you on your journey. I mainly work from a client-centred and relational perspective, meaning you have a voice in what we discuss and explore. This reflects my belief that therapy needs to fit the client’s personality and needs at the time.
Additionally, when working with couples, I draw wisdom from Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
When not doing therapy, I enjoy exploring the world around me through hiking, bouldering, and baking, I enjoy laughing while watching comedy tv, and I appreciate connecting with friends and family. You can also find me trying to convince my cat to snuggle.
